Alan's Devotionals

A GREAT VISUAL FOR THE YEAR

PSALM 65:11

PSALM 65:11 NKJ
You crown the year with Your goodness,
And Your paths drip with abundance.

I have to write these devotionals weeks ahead of time.  As I am writing this one for March 6th it's actually February 19th, and we are just coming out of the worst arctic freeze to hit Texas in decades.  The reason this verse stood out to me is the contrast with what people are saying about 2021.  We know 2020 was a tough year, and out of the gate, 2021 has started rather dramatically and not in a good way.

But this is a good time to switch our beliefs.  I don't want to set up the entire year waiting for the next bad thing to happen.  I prefer to believe God will crown the year, this year, with His goodness.  And that if I walk with Him and follow in His paths, they actually drip with abundance.  I choose to believe God is good and good to me, and there are good things still to come for 2021!

APPLICATION

Hopefully, you've not gone negative on the year.  It's still early, and there is still time for God to move.  I encourage you to believe for and look for a year crowned with His goodness.  A year full of His abundance.  An abundance of peace, strength, joy, health, provision, and blessing.  One translation says His wagon tracks drip with abundance.  God does not leave desolation behind for His children.  His paths are so full of His abundance they literally drip - what a great visual of a great God.

PRAYER

Thank you, Father, for 2021.  We believe in Your goodness, and we are blessed with Your abundance as we walk in Your paths.
