A GREAT EASTER PSALM

PSALM 107:8

PSALM 107:8 NKJ
8 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men!

OBSERVATION:

Happy Easter! He is risen!

Our Psalm for today contains this same phrase repeated four times. Any time we see repetition in the scriptures, we should pay close attention. There is a message here that God wants us to receive and put into practice.

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord. Talk about an activity that will never send us down the wrong path. God deserves our thanks. The Lord Jesus deserves our thanks, and Easter is a great time to give thanks.

Plus, giving thanks keeps us over on the positive side in our relationship with the Lord. It's hard to give thanks and be down at the same time.

And we are thanking God for His goodness and His wonderful works to us.

At Easter, when we celebrate Jesus' resurrection, we are celebrating the goodness of God and His wonderful works.

His goodness to pay for our sins by sending His Son to the cross.

His goodness to defeat death and the grave and give us a living hope by raising Jesus from the dead.

His goodness and wonderful work in buying us back from the hand of our enemy and making us His own children.

His goodness and wonderful works in healing us from mental and physical sickness and oppression.

His goodness and wonderful works in blessing us and making us more than conquerors through Jesus.

His goodness and wonderful work in giving us a relationship with Him as His children and the promise of heaven for eternity.

Oh, that men and women would give thanks to the Lord for His amazing goodness and wonderful works to us, His children.

PRAYER:

Lord, on this Easter, we give You thanks. For Your love and sacrifice and victory that has impacted our lives for eternity. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
